Days 17 to 31
I enjoyed my vacation and also didn’t blogged.
Day 16 – Welcome!
Heute ist der 16. Dezember, Freitag, gut 2 Wochen nach Beginn meines Projekts.
Und es war wahrlich ein Sprint! Denn: Heute habe ich den neuen Arbeitsvertrag unterschrieben. Sprich: Ich bin ab 01.01.2012 wieder “unter der Haube”. Und alle so: Yeeaahh! Hooray!
Oder wie es wohl mein neuer Chef sagen würde:
Day 15 – Cakes
Today was my last working day.
And the tradition in our company says, that –if something notable happened– someone –in this case me– has to bring something –in general cake– to celebrate this event –in my case the leaving.
And furthermore every cake event is documented now! Because Lea wants cake!
Day 14 – Last train
Oh dear, today I wanted to make a decision. And what happend? One final reply, a new appointment, for tomorrow! One more day. I can’t believe.
It’s like the nearly 50 years old television signal – you never expected but it came back.
Okay, folks, you will survive these hours of waiting, I also have to.
It was a long day which began too early (4 am is a time I normally think about to go to bed, not to awake!).

Day 13 – Ambivalent
Der heutige Tag war ausnahmsweise eher weniger gut. Wobei er eigentlich gut begann.
Schon am frühen Morgen ein Telefoninterview gehabt, auch mein Gefühl hierzu war positiv.
Aber nachdem sich die Sonne wieder hinter Regenwolken versteckt hat, verlief der Tag dementsprechend trüb.
Day 12 – CV
Very short post today, because I had to do a lot. Some appointments and calls.

Days 10 & 11 – Schreiben
Darüber Schreiben, dass man seinen Job verloren hat, soll angeblich helfen, auch schnell wieder einen neuen zu finden. So zumindest steht es in der karrierebibel geschildert.
Dies muss nicht unbedingt öffentlich stattfinden, so wie ich es hier mit diesem Blog mache. Es reicht aus, ein Tagebuch zu führen.
Aber die Vorzüge des öffentlichen Umgangs damit sind zum Beispiel auch, sich Mitstreiter zu suchen und zu finden, gemeinsam Erfahrungen auszutauschen. Andererseits möchten aber nur wenige so offen sein, dass jeder Leser weiß, wer sie sind.
Day 9 – Gedanken
Für einen Freitag sind ziemlich viele Dinge passiert. Davon sogar einige, die mir etwas peinlich sind und ich daher hier nicht niederschreiben werde.
Nur soviel: sowohl meine Sicherheit auf einem Server als auch am Telefon wurden heute auf die Probe gestellt. Trotz Stolpersteinchen ging aber alles gut. Glück gehabt!
Nach aktueller Lage werde ich euch auch am Montag noch nicht verraten, was gestern so Tolles passiert ist, weil ich erst am Mittwoch gewisse Entscheidungen treffen werde. Ja, ihr müsst jetzt immer noch rund fünf Tage warten.
Daher kann ich mich aber noch auf andere interessante Themen rund um Jobsuche und offenen Umgang damit stürzen.
Ich weiß zumindest von einer interessierten Firma, wo sogar der Chef höchst persönlich mitliest. Ganz ehrlich, da fühle ich mich geehrt. Danke!
Da es heute schon so spät ist und ich auch noch was fürs Wochenende zum Bloggen haben will, gibt es heute ausnahmsweise wenig Informatives.
Darum: Schönes Wochenende! Genießt es!
English: Friday, almost weekend, but some tiny disasters happend (regarding a server and a phone call), nothing which couldn’t be fixed but put me to the proof. The mentioned surprise will be published not before Wednesday. I know I have a (or more?) reader from a company, the CEO himself! Thanx! Over weekend I will post articles related to job search, open and public blogging about it and cats (no, not cats, I have not even a cat). Maybe in German mostly, because most interested readers are from Germany (my statistics says).
Day 8 – Ungoogled
Don’t know why, but Google doesn’t like me. Not as much as expected.
So, the result is, that I had more than 300 visitors within the last 8 days, without any search engine traffic! Awesome!
Yesterday forgotten to mention: I got an invitation for a “talk about my applicant proposal respectively my job situation” (Officialese for: “What can you do? And are you able to find a new job by yourself? So we don’t need to help you. Go home, or we will give you the worst job ever!”)
Today everything changed. Maybe I don’t need to get in contact with the job center anymore in the near future.

I won’t tell you now. I think I should wait with concrete information until … hm … monday? Sounds good. It’s like a cliffhanger.
The next days I will give you more thoughts about job loosing and job finding.

Day 7 – Colored
First I thought it would be a normal, usual day.
Most time it was — finalized some pull requests, did some research, made a cosmetical change, code review, started a new feature, wrote some mails, waited for replies, foo, bar, baz, fnord, 42, 101010 …
Sounds boring, doesn’t?
Okay, okay, I stop it!
The tiny things are the ones which can make me happy. And they did.
First thing was confirmation of tomorrows meeting with the team of one of my potentials. This is phase two. If I “survive” it, the way is free for the final step. But let’s not anticipate too much. Keep calm!
Second there was another much interesting opportunity I should follow. Only a single point I … no, “dislike” is the wrong word, let’s say there was a fact which sounded little bit queasy, but nothing you can talk about.
Third one is my one-day-too-late-Nikolaus: I got my blue hair colors! Hooray!
Now I look like on the photograph again. Feels good. Some guys will be happy seeing me with my “natural” color. ;o)
